IT Success Story
In 2014,Kelley Beekeeping was in the process of building their new 83,000 sq. foot manufacturing facility in Clarkson, KY. Owned byThe Frandsen Corporation headquartered in Minnesota, they were in need of an infrastructure cabling team who could not only perform the task at hand but also be a long-lasting technology partner.
The Technology Assessment
In 2014, Kelley Beekeeping was a new acquisition for The Frandsen Corporation. The project for a new manufacturing building broke ground at the end of 2014. By 2015, they were beginning the process of selecting an infrastructure cabling vendor. Although the Frandsen Corporation havetheir own voice and data cabling crew, they were challenged with the travel requirements for this project.
It made the most sense to begin a partnership with a local vendor. After interviewing about 6 companies, ultimately they selected Centrality Business Technologies for the project. It seemed that working with Centrality was not just for a one and done project - but establishing a long-term technology partnership.
Custom-Tailored Solution
During the initial assessment, Centrality uncovered that the IT department for the Frandsen Corporation was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how they wanted their cabling plan constructed. This made it a seamless transaction because all parties were on the same page from day 1.
The cabling project for the new facility was a success because of Centrality's attention to detail and organization was excellent. I wasn't always able to be onsite, so communication with the cabling team was very much needed. Having a team with a full understanding of the original plan and communicating any changes or additions needed was important.
The project was a collaborative effort - in working with Kelley Beekeeping and planning for future expansion. A grand re-opening in September 2016 unveiled the completed construction of the new facility. The level of work that Centrality's cabling team put forth into the organization, especially in the server room, has captured the eyes and compliments of even Kelley Beekeeping's othervendors. For forthcoming projects, Kelley Beecalls Centrality Business Technologiestheir infrastructure cabling partner.
